A boxspring bed does not need a slatted frame mattress — the base box handles the suspension completely. Suitable mattress types are:

What you should look out for when buying
In addition to size, other details play a role in your sleeping comfort: The height of the headboard should match the room height and your own taste — high, padded headboards look impressive, while lower versions blend in more discreetly.
